You will be dodging and using melee and grenades to slow down your enemies. To accomplish this, you will use the Mask of Bakris exotic, which increases your Stasis Dodge, clocks you while in use, and grants you extra damage from Arc weapons and to frozen or slowed targets. This build focuses on map control and determining the timing of encounters with other guardians. Stasis is a very tactical subclass, and it shines in PVP. Make you enemies feel chills with this build. Note: It should be noted that while the new Hunter Exotic "Gyrfalcon's Hauberk" is a fantastic exotic, it's been disabled for almost half of the season, and while a fix is stated for mid-October, we don't think a build based on it deserves to be on the list at the moment. We will not be using seasonal mods for any of the builds we will mention, so they are not dependent on them. Arc 3.0 arrived with a bang, but now that every subclass has been reworked, you can create fantastic builds with each elemental subclass.įor this list, we will consider both PVE and PVP builds. Subscribe to my free weekly content round-up newsletter, God Rolls. The history is just not there that shows that, nor do I believe all of this will be as bad as people are claiming when Witch Queen hits.įollow me on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. On paper, I can see how perhaps some of the Hunter’s new/changed Witch Queen tools could be underwhelming, and yet I cannot buy this narrative that Hunters are some sort of overlooked underclass. Rift and Barricade cast time feels much worse than Hunter dodge. Well is almost so essential in PvE encounters it’s almost annoying for Warlocks who want to run something else. Titans were nothing more than Bubble Machines in PvE for ages until Cuirass finally made Thundercrash viable. Warlock had Geomags nerfed in PvE for no real reason. Warlock and Titan Stasis melees are probably the two worst-feeling abilities in the game. I also don’t think other classes are devoid of their own laments. We have lived through past eras where Tether, Celestial Golden Gun and even Blade Barrage were top tier PvE supers, even if they were tone down or outclassed eventually. Dodge has been a key tool in combat encounters for years, and only recent has begun to see more nerfs to bring it in line with other classes. It took Bungie more or less an entire year to effectively nerf the stupidly powerful Shatterdive. Hunters have been PvP dominant for ages now. Then there’s the longer arc of things I think we have to take into account. Stasis Hunters have also been great with seasonal mods to boost light damage to frozen enemies with their constant whirling ice tornadoes. Heart of the Pack was great, but it wasn’t the only thing Hunters had, and on demand invisibility for you or your whole team remains incredibly valuable in upper level PvE content. And the protective abilities of the new Duskfield exotic have the potential to provide serious, constant protection in higher level PvE content on a relatively low cooldown, given that it’s tied to a grenade, not a super. Now that the Hive have light abilities and their own supers, reflecting things is more than just a fun PvP gimmick, potentially. Short term, I just don’t think we can fully judge how void 3.0 Hunters or these exotics will work until we get our hands on them.
